Opal Jones is an enrolled member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe. Opal currently serves as the Program Manager for The Sexually Transmitted Infection/Teen Pregnancy Prevention Initiative (STITPPI) that promotes and supports community awareness of sexually transmitted infections and how to prevent them as well as reduction of teen pregnancy and associated risk behaviors. Opal and the STITPPI staff are currently within 4 Tribal communities and 11 settings within the communities. Opal has over ten years of experience in the field of STITPPI Prevention. Opal loves the fact if she can help one youth in this journey we call life than she has done her job! Opal is a granddaughter, daughter, sister, relative and friend to many but what she cherishes the most is being a proud mother of three beautiful children.
