RAPID CITY — The Great Plains Tribal Chairmen’s Health Board’s Pathways to Healthcare Professions program is offering a free Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) class.
“We are excited to improve public health in our area. This class creates an opportunity for individuals to expand their skills and take advantage of the demand for CNAs in the workforce,” said GPTCHB CEO Jerilyn Church.
A certified nursing assistant (CNA) is a healthcare professional who assists patients with various healthcare needs, under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or a licensed practical nurse.
Demand for CNAs is growing faster than nearly every other job. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates an increase of 9% through 2028. The average rate of job growth is only 5%.
Applications are due by August 10.
