- What is our mission?
- The Great Plains Tribal Chairmen’s Health Board strives to provide quality public health support and health care advocacy to the tribal nations and tribal communities of the Great Plains by utilizing effective and culturally credible approaches.
- What is our vision for the people we serve?
- We envision a day when all tribal nations in the Great Plains will achieve optimum health and wellness through the embrace of culturally traditional values that are empowered by tribal sovereignty.
- Who do we serve?
- The Great Plains Tribal Chairmen’s Health Board serves 18 Great Plains area tribal nations and communities in the four-state region of South Dakota, North Dakota, Nebraska and Iowa.
- What do we do?
- The Great Plains Tribal Chairmen’s Health Board provides comprehensive and up-to-date health resources including research, education, assistance, prevention and outreach to its constituents across the Great Plains region. By uniting our constituents under the GPTCHB umbrella, they are able to compete for population-based grants and resources that may not otherwise be available to them. Through GPTCHB, tribes are empowered to address their individual health resource needs in an effective way.
- What programs and services does GPTCHB facilitate?
- GPTCHB offers a variety of programs and services through the Northern Plains Tribal Epidemiology Center, Training and Education, Community Health Programs, Maternal & Child Health Department, and the Behavioral Health & Recovery Department. Please contact the individual programs for more information on services offered.
- How do I get media information?
- Please visit our media section for information and resources, including images and press releases. In addition, all media inquiries should be directed to Rochelle Rogers, Communications and Executive Affairs Coordinator.
- How can the business office help me?
- Our newly developed Business Planning & Contract Development (Business Office) Department was created to help assist the tribes we serve with revenue generation and recovery, as well as with billing sustainability. The department can also provide auditing and assessments of current billing and coding practices and ICD-10 readiness. GPTCHB is excited to announce that coding and billing classes, specific to Indian Country, will be offered soon!
- How do I become an intern for GPTCHB?
- GPTCHB offers a variety of internships during the fall, spring and summer semesters. All internships and the application deadlines are listed under the Career Opportunities section. For more information, contact Kristine Watts, Director of Human Resources & Communications.
- Do you provide direct-care services?
- While the health board does provide an array of community outreach and education services, we do not provide direct-care, or direct patient and/or client, services.
