Carly Shangreau is an enrolled member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe and was born and raised in Pine Ridge, SD. She is a Veteran of United States Air Force as a Critical Care Medical Technician (2003-2007). She obtained an AA Degree in Life Sciences from Oglala Lakota College in 2002; received a BSHS in Health Education from Touro University International in 2008; and is currently matriculating in the MSHS – Health Education program at Trident University International. Upon completing her service in the USAF in 2007, Carly returned back to Pine Ridge, SD to pursue her interests in health promotion and disease prevention. She worked with the Centers for American Indian and Alaska Native Health (CAIANH) at the University of Colorado Denver. Also, she was a Field Study Coordinator and Program Specialist on the Native Domain team with the Veterans Rural Health Resource Center (VRHRC) Salt Lake City.
