Cheyenne is from New Town, ND located on the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation. In May of 2015, she graduated with her Bachelor of Science in psychology from North Dakota State University (NDSU). She is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health in American Indian public health from NDSU.
During her internship with GPTCHB, Cheyenne will be working with the Maternal and Child Health Department to conduct community readiness assessments using the community readiness model. She will also research various health messages and create educational materials.
Cheyenne heard about GPTCHB’s internship opportunities from an NDSU professor and after some research of the board, she developed a great appreciation for the work of GPTCHB. Considering Cheyenne is from the Great Plains region, she could not think of a better place to gain practical experience.
In her spare time Cheyenne likes to dance at powwows, bead and go to movies. She also makes every effort to live an active and healthy lifestyle.
